The idea for our collaboration happened when Andy, the event organizer, unexpectedly paired us after noticing we shared the same names on the artist list. Although we are both from Lithuania and currently live in Wales, we have never met before. This beautiful art event brought us together.

Inspired by our connection, we decided to share our ideas through a collaborative drawing. We incorporated Lithuanian and Welsh folk patterns to symbolize the differences and similarities in our cultures.

For my part of the drawing, I proposed a personal touch that reflects the idea that the thoughts we hold become the home we live in. Regardless of where you're from or where you live, your thoughts—your inner world—genuinely represent your home. The Welsh hat symbolizes the creative communities in Wales. The moving patterns are abstract shapes of flowers, and folk motifs represent imagination and creativity, connecting different cultures and the community. The moving lines merge with the other drawing and the text: "The words you speak become the house you live in," by a Persian poet I recently discovered on a research project. Location-wise, I think it's an excellent spot for a message, as it is visible from the bus stop, reminding viewers to pause and think about how powerful the words we think, speak, and create the home we live in.

25. 149 Chepstow Road alleyway - Rhys Webber

Location https://w3w.co/honey.beard.sake

Rhys Webber has been photographing people at Maindee Festival for many years. Here are some details about the process that he has followed for this artwork.

"First I scheduled two drop-in photoshoots at #maindeelibrary to get the portraits, plus a couple of smaller shoots at my #webberphoto studio for a couple of stragglers. The images were then edited in Lightroom and Photoshop, cutting out the black and white portraits to place everyone on a colourful background, with a few extra layers of text and texture.

A0 Printing was from the awesome OttimoDigitalPrint in Newport https://www.ottimodigital.co.uk/

This style of art is usually called 'Wheat Paste Art', where the paste is made up of flour and water with a 4-1 solution. However, after making up a gallon of this when we got to the wall we discovered that the wheat paste at 4-1 wasn't sticking at all. We increased the mix to 2 parts water to 1 part flour, then 1 part water to 1 part flower, none of which would adhere to the funky textured wall surface. I'd tried this method successfully on regular render, wood and painted surfaces with no problem. The wall must have been painted with gluten intolerant paint!

So, plan B was good old wallpaper paste, which worked a treat - we mixed it with a little less water than required to get a thick enough paste to fill all the gaps in the textured wall. We cover the wall with paste, then apply the poster, then cover the poster with paste and smooth down using various squeegies and our hands. Wrinkles appear on drying, but that's part of the charm of this method - it aint perfect!
